A Comissão dos Professores Indígenas do Amazonas, Roraima e Acre (Copiar) realiza o 7o Encontro de Professores Indígenas, que reúne cerca de oitenta educadores atuantes em diversas comunidades da região. Dois temas estão sendo discutidos: a medicina tradicional e a educação indígena. O professor indígena Gersem Baniwa ressaltou que a maior dificuldade encontrada na educação governamental é o fato de possuir currículos que não consideram a realidade cultural dos povos indígenas.
