Um incêndio vêm castigando a Rebio de Sooretama e em 16 dias já havia destruído cerca de 500 hectares de mata atlântica. Fortes ventos, a falta de equipamentos e o difícil acesso à reserva favorecem a propagação das labaredas. (FSP 26/09/98 p. 3-3)
