O índio Kaingang Santílio David Vargas, 25 anos, por pouco não foi linchado pelo seu próprio povo da reserva indígena próxima de São Jerônimo da Serra, depois de ter violentado a garota G.S. de apenas 8 anos de idade. O índio foi preso em flagrante pelo próprio cacique. A menor, bastante ferida, foi internada em hospital.
