Expulsos há 36 anos das terras indígenas em Serrinha, os Kaingang anseiam pelo retorno a seu território. A área de 11,9 mil pertence aos índios desde 1911, mas ao longo dos anos o governo do Estado incentivou agricultores a colonizarem indevidamente. Os agricultores não contestam o direito dos índios sobre a terra. Eles querem, no entando, ser indenizados e reassentados em outro local.
