A pedido do Conselho de Defesa da Pessoa Humana, do Ministério da Justiça, o procurador da República Omar José da Silva está investigando conflito entre índios kayapó e dois fazendeiros de Goiânia. O litígio teve início em 1989 quando estes compraram uma fazenda que faz limite com a reserva indígena. O procurador sugeriu estudos antropológicos de imemorabilidade da área.
